Happy back-to-school season to all! I’m excited to welcome everyone back to another music-filled school year.
This year, students at our studio will perform two formal recitals in December and May, and will have more opportunities to perform in community events. Those of you who have stayed in lessons over the summer have been preparing for our Farmers Market performance this weekend, and can expect to perform in more local events like this.
As a musician and teacher, I believe music is something we’re meant to do for and with other people. Sharing our hard work with our community is a wonderful way to spark connection and build confidence in young musicians!
The 100 Days of Practice Challenge will return in February this school year, and will culminate on the day of our spring recital in May. 50 Days of Practice, a shorter, “training challenge”, will begin in late October to help students prepare for their performance in December. Both challenges encourage students to cultivate daily practice skills and provide opportunities to be rewarded for their dedication.
Students who complete practice challenges will be invited to a special celebration party! Keep an eye out for a Halloween Party invitation during Saturday group classes as well 😉
Know someone who might want to take lessons? Thinking about lessons yourself? There’s currently availability for new students ages 3 and up on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday afternoons. Check out the New Student Inquiry Form to choose a lesson day, receive a group class placement, and learn what to expect from Suzuki lessons. Fall lesson dates are September 8- December 12.
Prospective students are encouraged to come by The Lincoln Park Farmers Market on September 5 to receive a free violin lesson. I’ll be stationed in front of Lincoln Park High School all day with violins from William Harris Lee to talk about starting lessons, and teach a few basics on a real violin before your first lesson.
